First edition. Containing the memoirs of Brigadier General James Parker. Parker was a Westpoint graduate and began his military career in 1876 at Fort Sill fighting Indians. Considerable information on Kiowas and Comanches. Also containing information on Ronald MacKenzie, buffalo hunts, the Ute Campaign, the Geronimo outbreak and subsequent campaign, the Philippine insurrection, Spanish-American War, and much more. Graff 3186: "Very interesting account of frontier Indian warfare and life in the forts in theSouthwest and West during the 70s and 80s. He gives a fine account of the Geronimo Campaign, and his appreciation of General MacKenzie as an Indian fighter is excellent."
