A nice copy of a rather large and scarce work. Having over eighty illustrations including diggings at the Soimanofsk Mines, a section of the Comstock Vein, and tunnels under Table Mountain. The frontis illustration features the Morro Velho Gold Mine in Brazil. The contents of the work explore gold regions of the Old World, mining in various British possessions around the world, and the Appalachian and Pacific Gold Fields of the United States, among many other topics.
