First edition.   This fair began in 1880, and this is the sixth annual county fair for Pawnee City. Prizes were awarded for all types of cattle both dairy and beef types, horses and draft horses, sheep, swine, poultry, farm products such as wheat, corn, popcorn, vegetables such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, etc., preserved canned goods, farm implements, musical implements, fine arts, textile fabrics, fastest trotting horse or mare, best and largest collection of fruits to include apples, pears, peaches, plums, and grapes, best canned preserves, flowers, etc.
